Meet Ginger! She is sweet and energetic. She has lived her whole life on a chain. Her owners were disabled and not able to care for her properly so they allowed their very young grandchildren to take care of her. Since she loves people so much she would get so excited when the kids came out to feed her an she would jump and bark. This scared the kids and most of the time they did not feed her. There were many times when she was not fed that she was only about 1/2 of what her body weight should have been. She was also attacked by the neighbors 4 dogs and had no defense so she is very defensive when other dogs come around. Because of this, she MUST be an only pet. Ginger is very high energy and would do well with an active person. At this time, Ginger is not house trained. She has always been outside and doesn't show any signs of wanting to come inside. Her favorite toy is her food dish and 5 gallon bucket filled with water. She is not interested in toys or bones. She is UTD on shot, spayed, and on heartworm prevention. If you are interested in learning more about her, please contact Tia at tiaf1@aol.com. COURTESY POST- Ginger is not a SGAR dog*

About Saving Grace Animal Rescue - AL Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Saving Grace Animal Rescue is a Christian-based, nonprofit organization that strives to assist others with helping animals. We recognize how difficult and overwhelming it can be to rescue and foster animals so that is where we help. Although we do not have a shelter, we are able to foster animals through a network of wonderful volunteers. We also assist people by informing them of the resources located throughout Central Alabama that can help make their efforts that much easier. We are always in need of foster homes so the more we have, the more SGAR can help. Contact us if you or anyone you know of has the space and desire to take in a homeless pet while we find them their furever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our animals, please complete a nonbinding adoption application found under the Forms tab of our website www.savinggraceanimalrescue.com
Also, feel free to contact us through email at either courtney@savinggraceanimalrescue.com or lindsay@savinggraceanimalrescue.com if you have any specific questions about an animal or about our foster program.

We hold adoption events the 3rd Saturday of each month from 12 - 4 p.m. at PetCo in the Brook Highlands shopping center off of Highway 280 (Birmingham, AL).

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fees for canines and felines are $100.00. If a puppy or kitten has not been sterilized at the time of adoption, a spay/neuter certificate is provided to the adopting parents. All applicants must fill out a nonbinding adoption application and adoption agreement. We do perform vet reference checks on all applicants and will perform a home inspection for all bully breeds.
For out-of-state adoptions, an additional charge will be included to cover the cost of transporting the dog as well as the cost of the health certificate to travel across state lines (this will be an additional $150.00 thus a total of $250.00 for the adoption fee).
