Colt's Story...
This is Colt. He's a super handsome 2 year old boxer mix. Poor Colt hasn't had much of a life up til now. He was adopted as a puppy and kept in the basement most of his life because the other dog in the family didn't like him. Luckily the owner's sister finally convinced her to surrender Colt to another shelter. From there he came to Friendship. Colt is a friendly non-aggressive fellow. He'll need some training but he's very happy to have any and all attention. He's a smart boy that will learn quickly and really wants to please. Colt was recently a guest at Friendship's Wags to Riches event. He was very well behaved and loved by all.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Colt, a Elyria Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
