Harmony's Story...
Howdy, y'all! My name is Harmony and I just moved up north from way down south to find my forever home. I'm a two year old dachshund/chihuahua mix and I'm all southern sass. You probably noticed that I'm missing a little (ok, a lot) of fur. It's because I am getting over a nasty case of mange. Don't worry, the treatment is going really well and my fur will grow back in! Thank goodness because this Michigan place is COLD! My foster mom keeps me nice and cozy with some cute clothes in the meantime. As I mentioned, I'm a sassy southern girl and I love to snuggle, eat, and play. I will do great with a family experienced in dogs with attitude to help me learn my manners and boundaries. My forever family will have to set clear rules and expectations for rules for me to follow to help me feel happy and safe. I'm working on house training, am great in my crate, and my foster mom thinks I would really love to try some obedience classes. I am ok with other cats and dogs but I like to be the boss so if there are other four-legged buddies in your house, they have to be ok with that. Once I am all done with my mange treatment, I'll be vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. My adoption fee is $200. Email rescueofhope@gmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Harmony, a Grand Rapids Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
