Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Quoth the Raven, nevermore alone. This Edgar Allen Poe quote has many interpretations, but in our Raven's case we think of it as a promise that she will never be alone again. At only a few months old, Raven was brought into a high kill shelter by a young child walking her on a large, heavy, metal chain. She was, understandably, petrified and we can only begin to imagine what her first few months of life were like. Raven is now just over six months old and 35 pounds, and has been in our rescue's care for some time as we have been working with her on socialization and confidence building. The world can still be a scary place for Raven so we are looking for a very special family who will be patient, gentle, and committed to her while she learns that people can be kind and loving. Raven may never be the life of the party and would do best in a quieter home (no young children please), but once she trusts, she comes to life and shows off her awesome personality -- both the wiggly, silly side and the cuddle bug side. Raven does well with cats and absolutely loves other dogs. In fact, she would thrive in a home with another dog to lean on who will show her the ropes. Raven is housebroken and crate trained, spayed, up to date in vaccinations and microchipped.
