Facts about Zena

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Zena is a truly amazing dog! She is hands down the best cuddler and loves to give kisses ALL the time. She makes a great companion dog, she's very empathetic and sensitive to people's emotions. Any kind of human interaction makes her happy, even just talking to her.

She is very laid back, easy going, and completely potty trained. She is great with kids. She loves to go on car rides, although she hasn't figured out the whole sticking your nose out the window part. She might need a little more practice on that!

She is great with other dogs (she plays with our neighbors lab all the time), she loves going on walks, doesn't pull unless she spots a squirrel, she likes to watch sunsets.

Zena is heartworm positive, but 100% of her heartworm treatment cost is being covered by Florida Urgent Rescue (FUR).

She is not a chewer but loves to squeak on a soft toy. She is sometimes fearful of things she can't see far away, so she may let out a growl but if you turn her attention away or let her know that it is safe her tail will go back up. She just needs reassurance sometimes.

About Florida Urgent Rescue Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Our mission is to dramatically improve the lives of shelter and rescue animals, to assist in urgent rescue situations and to implement resources to help in the aid of these animals. We rescue from death row at high kill shelters and help them have happy lives in their furever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please note: We are not a shelter. We do not have a kennel or facility that you can visit and see all the Animals. Each Animal is fostered in an individual home. So, you cannot come visit our animals until you have gone through the application and brief phone interview process and then we will schedule a meet and greet with the animal and their foster parents. Then the next step would be a 1 week sleepover, so before finalizing we can all make sure it's a perfect fit. We are all volunteers and do this in our spare time, we do not have set "hours" and we answer all calls and emails as quickly as we can. Thank you so much for your interest in our FUR Babies!

Our Adoption Process...

We require a written application, references and a home check prior to adoption. If you're interested in a foster-to-adopt, we are very flexible.
