Lucky's Story...
My name is Lucky, but I also answer to “Lucky Duck” and “Duck Duck Goose.” I’ve lived with my family for many years, but with the addition of multiple small children to the house, I have become stressed out. I prefer the calm, loving attention of adults – and I’d love to find an adult-only home. I do share my current home with other cats and a small Chihuahua – so I’ll share my people with other animals….if I have to. But who wouldn’t want all the love and attention for herself? Once you and I become companions, I’ll likely be a lap kitty. I’m hoping to find a nice, quiet, reserved home – and I hope someone is looking for a kitty just like me. I’m not at the FOHA shelter. Rather, I live with my current family while they try to find me a new family to love. If interested in meeting me, please contact Erin at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucky, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
