Zeus is one of our "special needs" dogs. He is very selective about his dog and human friends and would not be good with children or cats. He appears to be most accepting of dogs who are small females. It would be a happy day for Zeus to find a forever home; but because of his issues, we would have to be very careful. A potential adopter must come work with Zeus at the shelter repeatedly in order to develop a bond with him here first. If you think you might be willing to invest the time, you are welcome to come to the shelter and meet Zeus. You must check in with front desk staff to let them know that you are here to meet Zeus, and a kennel worker will be assigned to help you.

Please do not stick fingers into Zeus's kennel or spend too much time at his gate if he appears anxious or agitated.

About Humane Society of Pulaski County

About Our Shelter...

The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.

The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
