My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE FROM HER FOSTER DAD:

Princess has come a long way since she came to us. She was surrendered by a family who use to crate her 10 hours a day and then again overnight. She had a lot of trust issues so we assume there was more going on then just crating her for long amounts of time. At first when someone new came to the house, she would bark at them and not let them get near her.The stranger (to her) could throw her treats but that was about it. It would take about 2 hours to gain her trust enough that she would let them touch her.

After working with her for a few months she has come a long way! Princess will still bark at most people when they come on her property but after they feed her treats (she will now take them right out of your hand right away) and gain her trust she is fine. Over time, with more exposure to strangers, I’m sure she will learn to trust even more. Princess trusts people quicker when she is not on "her property". In her original home she use to be crated 10 hours a day plus overnight. In foster she has never been crated and does great. She lives with 2 large dogs in her foster home. Once Princess gets to know you she is a love bug and will cuddle with you whenever you want her to. Princess is house trained and had never gone in the house at her foster home. She loves squeaky toys and LOVES to chase a lazer pointer or flashlight beam! Princess also loves walks, playing tug with a rope, and chasing balls. We would love to see her have a fenced in yard to run around but it is not necessary. Being with another dog would also be great but not necessary as long as new owner spends time playing with her.
