Puppies!'s Story...
This adorable little puppy bunch came to us a couple of weeks ago when a local resident brought them to us. The parents were obviously unspayed/unneutered, and this little group is the result. These precious pups are 11 weeks old now and they are shih tzu/rat terrier mixes. They are quite shy and nervous, and they will need experienced homes where they will get all the direction, training, and comfort that they need.

If you are interested in adopting one of these puppies, we will need you to bring all of your information to our facility when you come in to meet them in person. You can download our adoption application here: . In addition to the completed application, you will also need to bring proof of home ownership (a tax bill, water bill or mortgage statement) if you own. If you rent, you will need a letter from your landlord and a copy of your lease. You will also need to bring vet records for any pets that you have had in the last five years. This information cannot be faxed or emailed in, you must bring it in person. We do not name puppies so please refer to the "color" of the picture when asking to meet a puppy when you arrive. (Red, Green, Yello, Pink) We are open daily from 12pm to 5pm. Any questions, please call 609-693-1900.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Puppies!, a Forked River Rat Terrier/Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Shih Tzu for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
