Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello there! My name is Abe! I'm a 10 month old, 48 pound handsome blend of Shepherd and American Foxhound.
I grew up with a family but one day they just disappeared. I saw lots of boxes and commotion but didn't realize my fate. When all the boxes and furniture were gone, so was my family. They opened a bag of dog food, left it on the floor and all of a sudden, it was just me and my bag of food. At first I was happy and content to be able to eat all I wanted but when the food was gone and no one came for me, I got so scared and lonely. I cried loudly hoping someone, anyone would hear me and finally someone did! The nice people from next door came to my rescue. They fed me, comforted me and took me to a shelter.
I still don't know why I was abandoned because I'm one happy, sweet, goofy boy. I really like other dogs and make friends with all of them I've met. People are great too! I hear them describe me as mild tempered, easy going and submissive...not sure what all that means but I think it's all good!
I'm a good boy when I'm inside...okay, I have been known to counter surf now and then but do comply when scolded. I don't mind my crate and I don't do my business inside.
I know there has to be someone out there that needs a goofy, social guy to keep them company. Someone that will promise to never abandon me.
I hear talk of wonderful things like obedience classes and dog parks and dream that maybe one day I could actually experience them. I know my best friend is out there somewhere. If it's you, please come and meet me.
