Comet's Story...
Comet is a 5 year old terrier mix wonder dog! He was found in Portales with a broken back, which has made him unable to use his back legs fully. You’d never know it from how fast he is! He has had surgery to help keep injuries to a minimum, and he sure tries to prove the “poor baby” statement wrong. He loves to go for short walks, loves to cuddle and lie around in bed all day. He is the perfect apartment dog. He is an entertaining and playful lover and keeps his foster family hopping. He will require a family that has someone home with him, or that can take him to work with them. He gets along with children over 7 and all other animals (he really needs a dog his size as a playmate) AND he has his own mobility assist hot rod If you would like to make Comet part of your family, and learn more about this very special pup, please complete an online application at www.lapdogrescue.org and be sure to include his name at the top. Please note Comet's adoption fee is $300.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Comet, a Tijeras Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
