Gage's Story...
Gage is an adorable laid back orange tabby boy who loves to be petted. He’s very outgoing, friendly and loving. Gage is wonderful with people, he likes lots of cuddling, and attention. He makes an excellent companion and he has tons of confidence, he knows just how cute he is. He’s still young and very playful. Gage likes to play with all types of toys, he’ll bat them around the room chasing after them and bunny kicking at them. He really likes catnip mice, and learned how to toss them into the air with his claws.

Gage is pretty affectionate and wants to have his chin scratched all the time and he’ll happily purr in return. Gage came to 4Paws from a shelter in central Virginia after he was found as a stray. Gage is very active and needs to go to a home with another kitty companion. He gets along well with other cats and dogs. He’s looking for a forever home where he can be the spoiled boy he knows he was meant to be!

Gage was born in February 2015. He has been neutered, micro-chipped, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, and is up to date on all his shots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gage, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
