Hammy's Story...
Hammy is about 6 months old and came to us at 2 days old when he was found by Animal Control. The vets did not think he would survive because he was so sick and could not breath through his nose and that mad it difficult for him to suck on the bottle. He requires round the clock care and frequent trips to the vet till about 11 weeks of age. He then started eating on his own and thriving. He never did fully clear his URI and has been on many meds just in case it was something that could be cleared up. Due to having a sever infection so young he has a chronic sniffle and is prone to URI infections. He MUST be indoor only to reduce his risks of catching colds from other cats. He is super sweet and social, loves dogs, kids and cats, Very sweet and outgoing, he likes to talk to you. He is HIGH energy and super playful. Loves to be held and petted and chase the other cats in the house. FELV and FIV negative, Flea Treated, Fully Dewormed and Neutered

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hammy, a Northfield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Northfield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Northfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Northfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Northfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Northfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
