found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Alphie is a larger sized Affen, who weighs between 20-25 pounds, so he will not be a delicate little flower! He is working on his leash training and is house trained as long as he is taken out every couple of hours. He is crate trained, and does currently sleep in his kennel. He does have the most adorable little snore! He likes men and women equally, likes other dogs, and even cats. He is acclimated to being crated when he has to be left home.
Alphie has a couple of minor medical issues which require medications, but the cost is very low. He has chronic dry eye and requires daily eye drops. He is very cooperative and even appreciative of his drops. He has had colitis, in the past in his previous home, but with the vet recommended food change, he has not had any issues in his foster home. He has minor bladder stones which are also treated with the vet recommended food. His current home was using medicated shampoo, but it is unsure if this is a necessity, as his foster has experienced no skin problems.
Alphie is adorable with his big, soulful eyes, and his foster mom thinks he looks like a cute cuddly teddy bear. She said he does the “moonwalk”, as he does not seem to like the wood floors very much. He is a little tissue thief, and does not particularly like to be carried, wanting to do it on his own. He is compliant with carrying, though He loves to be outside and barks along with his foster siblings. He is a real love-bug and wants to rub against you with his head in order to get more attention. He has had no problems with food aggression or any other type of aggression. He sometimes is somewhat of a loner, and prefers to lay in another room to seek the quiet. He already has his bowls, toys, special food, and eye ointment. He will also be adopted with a bonus of leash and harness, and heart-worm medication.
While Alphie is just about the perfect dog, his leash training and listening skills are a work in progress. He does travel well in the car in his crate.
Alphie would be ok as an only dog, but he does often like companionship of other dogs too. He has been exposed to dogs of all sizes in his previous life. Alphie would like a quiet household, few hours alone, and a fenced yard.
We do not ship our rescues, and the adopter does have to travel to the foster home to pick up the dog, and we never place dogs with an electric or invisible fence. Pet doors are OK as long as they are closed and locked while the family is gone and at night.
