Charlie's Story...
BCRRT announced in January 2016 that our Founder, Deanne Harris, lost one of her dogs, Kelsey, to cancer. Kelsey played a large part in our rescue efforts, and one of the things she enjoyed was taking care of kittens. In honor of Kelsey, BCRRT decided to keep a kitten/cat Adoptable through our rescue.

#198 Charlie is a male orange tabby cat who was found in Odessa, TX. After unsuccessfully locating an owner, he told us that he was ready to become our next rescue cat! He is neutered, litter box trained, and is living an indoor lifestyle. Charlie is said to be a sweet boy who loves one on one attention. He loves to curl up next to his human and nap. This boy is so happy to have been rescued, and is constantly purring. He gets along well with dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlie, a Allen Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Allen, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Allen.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allen already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allen breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allen paves the way for another one to be saved.
