My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please do not click the adopt me button. If your interested in meeting this dog, please go to our website at angelsonwheels.org to complete the on-line adoption application.

Although we make the best guess on the breed and size of our dogs, because they come from shelters or are strays, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the dog. All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED! If an animal is still posted for adoption, he/she is still available. If you see this this post, she is available for adoption so there is no need to email us for availability.

Meet Mack, a gentle giant. He is a super sweet, super friendly 6-9 month lab mix. We feel he is about 6 months based on the fact he still squats when he pees and his coordination. The vet, however, felt he may be closer to 9 mos. from the teeth....thus the reason for the range. As of 2/24/26, Mack weighed 53 pounds. He is just a big, cuddly, lovable oaf. We think Mack may be lab mixed with possibly Great Dane or Mastiff, and we feel he will grow to be between 80-100 pounds, with longer legs. Depending on his age, he could get over 100 pounds. He is being fostered in a home in Mokena, IL.

Mack is a great pup, he is pretty mellow for a puppy and NOT super crazy hyper. He is very friendly, loves men, women children, and is submissive and fantastic with the other dogs, . Kitties he likes to chase and bark. He is a total lap dog and doesn't realize his size. All he wants is to snuggle on the couch with you, and be your best friend. He is doing very well on his house training, but the foster does take him out every few hours.
Mack does ok on a leash; he doesn't pull at all, but needs a bit of coaxing when walking as he is just learning. He is not crate trained, but gated in the kitchen area of the foster's home. they have been trying the crate, but he does a lot of howling when crated. He hasn't done any destructive chewing. If you live in an apartment or condo this is not the right dog for you given we believe he is going to be a big dog. He is super smart and learns things very quickly.

Mack was either abandoned in a very rural area of Paducha, KY or he was stray. Mack showed up at the door of a farmer. The farmer checked with the few area neighbors and no one knew who he belonged too. They searched for days trying to find an owner with no luck. We then offered to take Mack into our rescue.

If you would like to meet Mack, please fill out the on-line adoption application at www.angelsonwheels.org and the foster will be in touch within 7 days once the application is processed and if approved! Keep in mind that there may be multiple applicants applying for the same animal(s). It's advised to submit an application immediately if your interested in meeting this pet. Emails will slow down the process, and while you are awaiting an email response, which can take several days, we may get applications.

Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but is required prior to making arrangements for a meet and greet as all of our animals are cared for in homes. We can't schedule meet and greets until the application is submitted and approved. We don't have a building so there are no viewing hours. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes by wonderful families who volunteer their time to save these precious souls.

The adoption fee is $250 and includes the neuter which is now done, vaccinated for DHPP, rabies vaccination, tested for heartworm which was negative, tested for Lyme disease which was negative, and tested for ehrlichiosis (which is another tick transmitted disease) which was also negative. He's been dewormed with Panacur, treated with revolution, microchip, he comes with a leash and collar, and your 1st vet visit is free if through one of our participating vets.

We must have an application, sometimes a home visit, reference checked including the vet of current and/or past cats and/or dogs, to approve an application. At the meet and greet, we will need to meet all members of the family including any four legged doggies in your home to assure everyone gets alone. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
