Slade's Story...
Meet Slade, FOR’s first equine rescue! He’s about 7 years old, and in great health. His Coggins was negative, he’s had all his vaccines, and he’s being gelded this week. Slade was rescued from a terrible situations. He lived in a scrap yard with several other ponies. It was too small and covered with litter and junk. His owner didn’t even know what a Coggins was!! Also, he was living in a pen with his daughter, spring is almost here, and he was not gelded. Slade feet had never been trimmed. He’s seeing the farrier soon and will be getting his teeth checked, too!!
Slade hasn’t been ridden in several years, but his foster mom is working with him already. She says his personality is great and he would make a great cart pony. He loves the other ponies on the farm, but would love to find his FORever home.
Slade is 10 hands tall. He’s solid black and oh so handsome. He likes to be groomed. We’d love for you to meet him!! Slade’s adoption fee is $500 to cover all of his vetting and transport within 50 miles of Huntsville, AL. If you’d like more information, please email info@forrescue.net and put “Slade” in the subject line.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Slade, a Huntsville Pony - Other was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pony - Other for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Pony - Other from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pony - Other breeders who help with Pony - Other rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
