Zoey (blonde) and Gidget (chocolate) are adorable 12 week old dachshund/chi puppies were born in November 30, 2015. They are healthy and well socialized with dogs and people. They came from a litter of four from a back-yard breeder in Northern California. Our SCDR-North division took two of the puppies and we took the other two. We were even successful in getting the purebred dachshund mama away from them. She has been spayed and is now up for adoption through our Northern California division.

Zoey and Gidget are very sweet puppies. They have received 2 rounds of shots, been dewormed twice, and have been micro-chipped. They are ready to be adopted out on a “spay contract.” They have been crate trained, but are nowhere near house-trained yet, and will not be for some time. They do use piddle pads with some accuracy. They miss the target occasionally. They need experienced people willing to put in the time and effort. Because they are very young, these puppies can be trained to get along well with cats and other small pets. They get along with other dachshunds.
Ideal applicants will need the following qualifications:

• Someone at home most of the day, stay-at-home moms or folks who work from home.
• Previous dachshund experience is a plus.
• Another small dog for play and companionship. (No dogs over 40 lbs.)
• A very secure INDOOR place for the puppy to be when no one is at home.
• Applicants must be between 30 and 65 years of age.
• No infants or toddlers, please, but we will consider families with children over 10 years old.

If you are interested in one or both of these puppies, please fill out an adoption application and email Dena at Dena@SCDR.org or call 562-694-6868.

The adoption fee for each puppy is $300.00, plus a $100.00 refundable spay deposit.
(If you want both, a discount will apply. Both will be $500.00, plus the spay deposits.)
