UPDATE April- Bo is adjusting well. He has gained the weight he was lacking upon arrival. We have rode Bo several times and he is learning some cues he did not understand. Bo has had farrier work twice now, uup to date on vaccinations and worming treatments.

Bo was in a slaughter pen with Buddy. Of the track race horse and raced wagons. Bo is respectful of people and good in a herd. He is tattooed and our best read has allowed us to determine his name is Bovice. He is 21 years old. 16.2HH approx. Upon arrival he was very thin. Bo has put a great deal of weight on and could still gain a few more pounds. He leads nice, stands for farrier. Bo is broke to ride and drive. He will need experienced home. He is up to date on vaccination, deworming, and had his teeth floated in December 2015. He does require another tooth extracted in 6 months. If interested in adopting Bo please email for more details.

About Ridge Rescue Society

About Our Rescue Group...

The president has been involved in rescue for 22 years; this is a life passion, and life imagined any other way it's not possible.
All animals go to the main location (acreage) prior for a minimum 2 week assessment prior to being available to transfer to foster homes or up for adoption.
Each animal receives basic vet care (vaccines, deworming, altering) upon arrival. Once this is completed our animals are then ready to be placed in foster home. If the dog is too young for spay/neuter this is the only vetting that may not be completed prior to foster placement/adoption.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold monthly adoption events at a couple pet stores in Lethbridge, Alberta and Medicine Hat, Alberta. Summer months, we have outdoor events as well. Other meet and greets are completed at potential adoptive homes after an application has been approved to proceed.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption application in full must be submitted as first step. We check 3 references (not family members) and vet reference. We then do a meet and greet with all family members, if there are other pets in the home we have a meeting outside of the home first (for dogs) to gauge initial reactions of the dogs.
We complete home visits after an approved adoption within the first 2 years - up to 4 per year. Our mandate is that the animal must be returned to RRS if the family can no longer care for him/her. Adoption fee is charged and a contract is signed to finalize adoption.
