Hi, my name is Sophia and I believe in second chances. You see, I came to the shelter one fine spring in a desperate situation. I was pregnant, cold, hungry, and pretty nervous. I was given a warm and quiet place to have my babies in a foster home, and two days later they arrived. My babies have since grown up and found their forever homes, but now it's my turn. I'm still a little shy about being held, but I love to be scratched on the cheeks! I also love to play! I'm not much of a jumper, and prefer to stay close to the ground. I'm used to kids from my foster family, but really prefer the peace and quiet from adults. Will you please be my forever second chance?

**My adoption fee is half off thanks to a generous donor! (Original fee: $109 + tax)Cat adoption fees are generally $109 (plus tax), unless otherwise noted, and dog adoption fees are $169 (plus tax), unless otherwise noted. Adoption fees include necessary vaccinations, a microchip, testing (FeLV/FIV for cats and heartworm test for dogs) and spaying/neutering of every animal that is adopted from our facility. If the animal is too young for sterilizing, the adopter is responsible to see that this is done. Once we receive confirmation that the adopted animal has been altered, a refund will be refunded ($75 for dogs and $40 for cats).

About Homeward Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are a small shelter that rescues pets from local impounds whose time is up, and would otherwise be euthanized. Because we only have 9 dog kennels and 17 cat kennels, we are very limited on space and often, we can't take in owner surrenders, but will do our best to help people in rehoming their pets. We offer several services besides adoption, including microchip clinics, pet-friendly rental housing listings, and Safe Paws (foster care for the pets of domestic violence). We are the only shelter in the FM area that rescues both cats and dogs, so without our help, hundreds of dogs and cats would be euthanized each year in local pounds.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is in north Fargo, near the Yunker's Children's Museum, located just off of University Dr. on 28th Ave. N. We are open Monday-Friday from 11am-7pm, Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday 12pm-4pm. We have adoption events throughout the year, and you can find more information on our website at www.homewardonline.org or our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/HomewardAnimalShelter.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopters are required to fill out an application before adoption, and we process the application by the end of the following business day. All adopters must be 18 years of age or older. Once approved the fees for adoption are $109 for cats and $169 for dogs. Adopters must complete an adoption contract at the time of adoption.
