Ethel's Story...
Hello I'm Ethel and I'm the darkest brown and white of my siblings. We were all brought in from the cold as an owner surrender since our owner didn't want us. We are scheduled to be spayed/neutered on the 10th of March, but we are allowed to be pre-adopted so that we can go home as soon as possible after we are fixed. We will have our first puppy shots, but will need two more once we are adopted, as well as rabies vaccines once we are 4 months old. (right now we are only 3 months). If you are interested in adopting please fill out an adoption application at www.al-van.org under the tab "adopt." Inquiring about a puppy is not an application, and will not hold the puppy for you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ethel, a South Haven American Bulldog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog for sale in South Haven, or seeking a American Bulldog puppy from a breeder in South Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog breeders who help with American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
