My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abigail has been through quite a lot! She was wandering stray for years in a very rural part of Arkansas. A local family noticed that she was quite pregnant and called our rescue partners. About a week after going into foster care she gave birth to her beautiful babies. She was heartworm positive, which is unfortunately all too common in the south.

Abigail is the mom of the "A" puppies that came up to us in October and who all were adopted. She had to stay behind for heartworm treatment but now she is healthy and ready to go! Abby is a bit of a couch potato and likes to hang out with her foster family. She does well with other dogs but will let them know who is boss if she feels it is necessary. Abby hasn’t been around cats but she doesn’t have many teeth so she probably couldn’t hurt one! She does well with a routine. Small kids would probably make her wary; older kids are fine. Abby loves to just chill with her humans and be loved! The vet estimates she is at least 5 years old but they don’t know her exact age. She weighs about 45 lbs.

This sweet and special girl is ready to retire from having babies and just be someone's baby instead!

To learn more about Lucky Pup Rescue, please visit our website: www.luckypuprescue.org. If you have interest in any of our dogs, please fill out the application and we'll work with you to find a great match for your family: http://www.luckypuprescue.org/#!adoption-application/c1aw8.

Please note, we do not have a physical facility where our dogs are housed, they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes throughout New England. If you find a dog you would like to meet, our expectation is that, once approved, you will travel to meet the dog in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.

Thank you for considering rescue!
