My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**ADOPTION PENDING** Maddie2 is a very sweet little 11 pound, 13 year old 'young' senior dachshund. Maddie is deaf, but she is quite normal other than her loss of hearing. She barks at trespassing squirrels and strangers passing by her yard. When she takes a nap or goes to bed at night nothing will wake her unless its a motion she feels. Maddie lives with other dachshunds and will sometimes sleep with one or another of them, but mostly she just wants to be near a human. Maddie is house trained, likes going for walks, riding in the car and she likes being carried around. She will snuggle against you or on you if you invite her to join you - Maddie does not jump onto or off of furniture. Maddie mainly likes to hang out if she isn't going for a walk or a car ride. She doesn't play very much, she can take or leave the other dachshunds in her foster home and when introduced to a cat she showed no interest.

Maddie's ideal Colorado home will be free of young children, a fenced yard or someone dedicated to taking her out often. She would love an older stay-at-home "Mom".
