Winchester was surrendered with his mom when his owners could no longer care for them. His mom was a 12 lb Chihuahua and got adopted quickly. Winchester looks like he is mixed with terrier and weighs 25 lbs. He is up to date on vaccines and has been neutered. Winchester was not socialized or worked with in his original home and is very wary of strangers. He would do well in a foster home to learn to adjust to new environments so that he can be ready for adoption. He gets along with most dogs and cats, but is not suited for a home with children. He will nip out of fear if cornered or grabbed! Once Winchester has warmed up, he is a very loving boy and likes to jump on your lap. He is very affectionate and we know he would be a wonderful companion to the right person or people. He just needs to learn the world is not a scary place :(
Please contact the shelter today if you would like to help this sweet boy! His adoption is only $60.
**UPDATE 03/2016: Winchester went to a foster home and happened to get away from the foster family. It took staff two days to catch him again. It is now a requirement that he goes to a home with a fenced yard to prevent the same thing from happening! After 2-3 weeks Winchester bonds enough to people to come to them but until that trust is formed, he needs to be in a safe environment.
Unless otherwise stated, the adoption fee for dogs over 4 months is $120.00.
