** IN VERMONT ** Meet Penny! More pics and video to come! Penny is approx. 2-3 years old, female, spayed, vetted, micro-chipped, and about 45 lbs. Penny is a great pup; she is most happy when she is cuddled up next to a human (adults and kids alike). She is not a barker and loves to consume rawhide. Miss Penny hasn't quite taken to the cold weather but she is getting more used to it. In a nutshell....she is extremely low maintenance and just wants to be cuddled! Penny is best without cats and may do well with 1 dog as a companion but only with proper introductions and patience. Penny lives with another dog now that she loves but it took some time for her to warm up. Since then, they are best buds and even share a dog bed and human bed. She is good with kids; Penny is absolutely fine with children of all ages. She loves people, loves to ride in the car, is potty trained, is a very quiet dog, isn't intimidated or scared of men. She can be very active when she is outside as she likes to chase squirrels and chipmunks (prey drive toward smaller animals). Inside, she likes to lay around. Penny is a fantastic dog. She would do well with any family. If they have a dog, the new family would just need to take it slow and follow introductions instructions to set her up to succeed with another dog.
If you are interested in adopting Penny please fill out an Application at www.Passion-4-Paws.org (please make sure you have the Vermont site) thanks!

Disclosure: Breed labels are often incorrect: we rarely know the genetic lineage of the dogs we rescue. Many shelters and rescues specify breeds based on appearance; however, research has shown that less than 2% of a dog’s DNA determines appearance! Passion 4 Paws does not practice the use of labels pertaining to compatibility with others or dog breed. Labels such as “dog friendly” and “child friendly” should be used with caution as they often over-simplify the personalities and behavior of dogs.

Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply.
