Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Happy, friendly Danny (formerly named Sad Sack, before his leg surgery) is now available for adoption to a special home. Danny is very friendly to people and seems interested in getting to know cats. At only 5 months old he is already nearly housebroken and he is crate trained. He seems to be very smart and eager to learn. He loves spending the night in his crate and enjoys traveling in the car in a smaller crate. This makes him the perfect dog to take with you on trips. One leg may always be a bit shorter than the other, due to his special surgical procedure to correct a badly fractured leg, but he has no pain and he's very energetic. He has trouble placing his foot properly but it doesn't bother him. He actually looks very cute with his own special way of walking. It may mean, however, that his adoptive home will need to be careful with walking him so he doesn't damage his foot. He seems to do well on grass outside and on carpets inside. He is an affectionate dog and loves to sit right next to you, touching your leg or sitting on your feet. I'm sure he'd love to cuddle in your lap, but we haven't allowed that since his leg was healing. He'd do well in a home with older children only or with a couple or individual who is seeking an affectionate, friendly dog.
According to VA state law a unneutered pet cannot be adopted out of state. For more information, please call the Bedford Humane Society at 540-586-6100, or go to www.bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to fill out an adoption application.
