This handsome hound is Lou, a coonhound mix that is a little over a year old and would just love a great home to grow up in. Lou may look like a real sad sack in his pictures, but don't be fooled.....he's a spunky and sweet guy that is so happy to be safe and sound. He was found as a stray on the busy streets of Newark and came to us in search of a fresh start in life. Lou is just a little shy when he first meets you but just let him check you out and he'll be your best friend for life. He is quiet, reserved, and mild mannered, and Lou is very well behaved. He walks very well on a leash and nothing makes him happier than sniffing every tree that he passes by. Lou enjoys going in our exercise yard but he doesn't seem to know the first thing about toys, which is sad since he's so young. He's happy to learn though and anxious to find out what it's like to be part of a good family. Lou doesn't seem to mind other dogs and would do best with more mature children. This sweet and gentle soul would make a loyal and loving companion to you for the rest of his days if you give him a chance. File#26020 2/21/16
