My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Duncan is among the most well-mannered and respectful dogs in our facility. He knows SIT, WAIT, DOWN, SHAKE/TOUCH and LEAVE IT.
He understands the word “OUT” meaning to move away from an object. It is not uncommon to have Duncan lie on his bed “PLACE” and wait up to 30 minutes before being released. He is also trained to SIT and WAIT at every doorway, threshold, gate and curb. Duncan relishes the affection of a good ear and neck scratching or belly rub from his handlers. He is taken on long walks and car rides to reward and reinforce his good manners in public where he gathers quite a bit of interest and admiration.
Duncan is available for adoption and ready to build a special bond with a family of his own. Duncan is very well behaved, but due to his size, he would do better in an adult-only home or one with older children. Exercise is crucial to Duncan’s well-being; he is still quite young and activity provides the opportunity for him to release energy that is common in his breed. A large fenced yard or farm would be ideal for Duncan to stretch his long legs. Once exercised, Duncan has a fabulous “off-switch” and is the perfect couch potato. Duncan gets along exceptionally well with other dogs. He possesses the fundamental traits of a well-mannered, respectful and affectionate companion. With a confident (hands on) committed, dog savvy owner Duncan will only exceed our expectations as he matures into adulthood.

If you are in search of a four-legged buddy for life, Duncan is a devoted companion and has the makings of an exceptional running, camping, hiking or outdoor partner. Duncan is extremely handsome and quite the gentleman and we are very proud of him! Please contact the Farley Foundation at adopt4leggeds@aol.com or (910) 315-9569 if you are interested in adopting Duncan and would like more information.
