Aspen's Info...

I am already spayed, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, and good with kids.

Aspen's Story...
"I am Aspen a green eyed tortie Manx. I love to play with my toys and love interaction. I will curl up around your feet and wait for some belly rubs. I have been treated for rectal prolapse so my diet is mainly wet food. This does not prevent me from being one tortie cuddle bug!"

Aspen is a super sweet kitty who just wants to be loved. She has never met a stranger and greets you when you walk in the door by meowing and rubbing up against your legs. She loves all the attention she can get! She is super inquisitive, moves quick and likes to play. She can be vocal only when she thinks you will join in the conversation. She loves scratches under her chin and around her whiskers. She will give kitty kisses too! Her coat is very beautiful and looks like she has flecks of gold in her fur, especially around her eyes. This little girl was as sweet as she could be even when she was in discomfort and being treated for the prolapse.

Are you interested in adopting Aspen or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Aspen.

Thanks for thinking adoption!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Aspen, a Smithfield Manx cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Manx for sale in Smithfield, or seeking a Manx cat from a breeder in Smithfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Manx breeders who help with Manx rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
