Oscar is such a cool dog. He is a happy guy who is a people pleaser but can be a bit nervous with new experiences. He is staying with one of our dog trainers to build his confidence in general and around other dogs.
He is only 4-5 years old so don't let his grey muzzle fool you. He is 50 lbs and a lean boy. Adoption fee 125.00 - UPDATE 3/5 FROM OSCAR'S TRAINER:
Oscar is a very sweet, gentle and affectionate dog. He is very well trained and well mannered. He knows commands, walks well on leash; doesn’t jump on people and is not mouthy. He only gets up on the furniture if he’s invited - and he loves to snuggle. He can be nervous with new situations and a lot of activity and also has some anxiety which is now managed well with medication. With his current training, socialization and confidence building, we’re hoping he can be off medication in some time. Oscar is house trained and is currently working on his crate training. He goes into his crate on his own without any issue and is very calm in it. Oscar is very playful with gentle and respectful dogs and is working on being more confident around them. He doesn’t seem to mind cats. Because of Oscar’s nervousness in new situations we would prefer an adult home only or with older and respectful children.

About FIDO's Companion Rescue Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

We operate out of Avon, Ohio. We primarily rescue dogs from the Lorain County Dog Kennel and other Dog Pounds before they are put to sleep. We secondarily assist with taking in homeless stray dogs and funding the spay/neuter of homeless dogs and cats for other independent local rescuers and vet clinics who take them in off the street and work to rehome them. Lastly, we provide and fund the transportation for all adopted dogs going to vet clinics for the Mandatory Spay & Neuter Program at the Lorain County Dog Kennel.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a shelter. Our rescued animals are kept in foster homes or boarding facilities primarily on the west side of Cleveland until loving forever homes can be found. Please remember we are all VOLUNTEERS who work full-time jobs. We will do our best to return your emails/calls within 24 hours.

Our Adoption Process...

If you wish to adopt one of our great pets, go to our website at and submit an application on our adoption page. Once your application is submitted and approved, we can set up a time for you to meet the dog(s) you are interested in. We do not operate on a first come, first serve basis. We strive to find the most compatible home for our dogs and look for adopters who are certain they want to make a lifetime commitment to our rescued dogs. We also require a home visit as a part of our adoption process. If we do not have an animal that interests you, we may be able to help put you in contact with the many other organizations with which we network. ADOPTION FEES - Individual fees apply based on each dog rescued. See individual dog's bio for adoption fees that apply.
