You never know when you rescue a dog from the shelter what kind of personality the dogs have. Well Safra does have a level of anxiety and shyness when first meeting new people, but not aggressive at all. Her Foster Mom tells us that now when Safra is not busy playing with a toy, she likes nothing more than to curl up in her Foster Mom's lap or by her side for a cuddle and petting. She's also great around other dogs, but is not engaging at all with them.
Unlike many dogs with anxiety, Safra will bite at her back leg sometimes, but does not hurt herself and of course it's not all the time it's just random. Maybe at times she she feels stressed out. We have had her checked out by a vet because of her behavior issues and anxiety and even had an MRI done and vet said there was nothing physically wrong with her it's all behavioral. She would do best in a calm household so no children under 14 years of age. In addition, no cats as she does like to chase them!
If you are interested in Safra, please complete the on-line application at www.adoptmerescue.org. As adoptions events are to stressful for her we will be setting up a private meet and greet with her. You can also e-mail us if you have any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org
