Ruby's Story...
Hi! My name is Ruby and I’m a 2-year-old Retriever mix and weigh about 50 lbs. I had a rough start on life, but I still love all people and I’m great with children. In addition, with proper introductions, I’m great with other dogs as well! I’m a very mellow pup, and despite my size, I only take up a small amount of space – I love to curl up on my bed and chew my bone. I walk great on a leash and I’ll go on walks, hikes, and runs with you if you want, but I’m perfectly content to lounge around and sleep all day if you just want to relax. I’m a really smart girl, so I’m house-trained and know how to use a doggy-door, which means no accidents in the house for me! I’m even learning basic commands, like “Sit!” You will never meet a dog that’s happier to be with her people, so let me know if you’re looking for a forever friend to give you unconditional love!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruby, a San Antonio Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
