Lucy Lu's Story...
Lucy Lu is a beautiful yellow lab. She is about 2 to 3 years old and weighs 57 lbs. Her story is a sad one. She was rescued from a Korean Meat Farm where her newborn babies were taken from her and used for 'puppy soup'. Sorry, I know, my stomach turns when I think about it too. But despite all that she has been through, she is a loving friendly girl who knows no strangers. When she meets someone new she gets so excited and her tail and butt wiggle non-stop. Lucy Lu is now in a wonderful foster home and getting all the love and nurturing she deserves. She loves her foster family's 3 and 5 year old children and likes romping and playing with her foster brother Beau. Lucy Lu's foster mom says, 'Considering the situation she came from, Lucy is a sweet, sweet girl who has nothing but love to give.' She would benefit greatly from obedience training and work on walking on a leash. She is very food and treat motivated, so training should be a breeze. Lucy Lu has been spayed, is heart worm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and is micro-chipped. She is also crate trained and working on house training. If you would like to learn more about this sweetheart, please go to our website,, complete an online application and indicate 'Lucy Lu' in the notes section. She is available in New England only.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy Lu, a Lewisville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Lewisville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Lewisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lewisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lewisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lewisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
