Sparky's Story...
Sparky was scared and alone wandering the streets. He wouldn't let people come near him so I was called to see if I could help. When I arrived he started to run away from me so I laid down in the grass and ignored him. Within a minute or two he became curious and slowly inched towards me and began sniffing around my boots and jeans. Then he came up to my shoulders, laid on his back and begged me for belly rubs and we have been buddies ever since. Sparky is a firecracker and likes to hop around and play but he also enjoys his cuddle time. He gets along pretty well with other dogs but some take him longer to get used to than others. Sparky wouldn't mind being an only pet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sparky, a San Antonio Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
