My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CHARLIE, 42 Year old Blue and Gold Macaw
Charlie has been in a Wilmington, NC area foster home for many years. Being a bit out of the way, he hasn't had a chance to meet many people and find a more committed home.
While he is talkative in the morning, Charlie is overall a quiet bird. He spends a great deal of time on his large tree porch on a screened in porch and gets lots of healthy sunshine exposure. He gets regular baths standing on a perch in a walk-in shower. He eats a healthy diet of pellets, fresh veggies and fruit, eggs and grains. While Charlie does not care to be scratched or petted, he will willingly step on on a stick and then on a human hand.

Charlie is seeking a good home with people who are able to appreciate and respect his reserved nature and who will allow him to have plenty of time outside his cage. 42 is not old for a macaw, but being long past puberty, Charlie has a calmer personality. He currently enjoys lots of time out of his cage, enjoying fresh air on a porch. We'd sure like to see him continue to enjoy as much freedom as possible
