Emma's Story...
Meet EMMA. Emma is a 4 1/2 year old German Short-Hair Pointer/ Lab. She was owner surrendered due to no fault of hers. She is a sweet girl that does well with other dogs and kids. She is house trained, knows many basic commands, and will play fetch. Emma tends to pull some on her leash, but we are working on that. Emma is 20-25 pounds over weight. She will need a new owner that will exercise her in increasing increments, while maintaining a consistent diet. She has the potential to be a very active dog and needs to be given that opportunity. She LOVES going for walks but because of her weight can only go short distances.

If you want to apply for Emma, please visit the rescue between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emma, a Meridian German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Meridian, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
