Hello, my name is Charley. I joined Ruff Start Rescue after a nice lady found me as a stray and brought me to the vet. They reached out to rescues and luckily found me a foster home.
I'm a little cautious of new places and people, so I take a little while to warm up.
Once I've warmed up to new people, I will gladly seek them for attention. While I love to be pet, I'm not fond of being held.
My foster mom says I must love my voice because I love to talk, and she says sometimes I'm loud.
I enjoy gazing out the window and perching high in a cat tree.
I get along well with other cats and dogs, but I'd prefer if they weren't too rambunctious.
Do you think I might be a match for you?
Charley is FIV+, but is non-symtomatic. He should be an only kitty, or live with another FIV+ cat.
Please don't let this scare you! Its not contagious to humans or other non-felines. Charley acts no different than other cats.
We would be happy to answer any questions you may have and share more information about it.
If you are interested in me, please fill out an adoption application at www.ruffstartrescue.org. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal. Once we receive your application, a placement coordinator will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
Please check out our website, www.ruffstartrescue.org for more details and additional pictures on any of our animals!
All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).
Ruff Start Rescue is a foster based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.

You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
