Facts about Tucker

  • Breed: Redbone Coonhound/Labrador Retriever Mix

Tucker is a two year old bundle of sweetness. He loves everyone he meets, human and canine. He will do best in a home where someone is home a lot and maybe with a friend to play with. He was initially rescued as a stray when he was a puppy by some lovely people who took good care of him, but they worked long days and left him alone and crated a lot. They knew he was unhappy with that life and asked if we would find him a new home.

Tucker was adopted by what we thought would be the perfect home -- someone was with him almost all the time, but unfortunately Tucker is a bit of an escape artist -- he could jump their fence and they were worried about his safety. They grieved over returning him as they had already fallen in love with this sweet boy.

We thought maybe he was escaping to go find some canine companionship, but now he is in a foster home with lots of friends and he still wants to jump fences. He will need a yard with very secure fencing or maybe a large farm to roam on safely. Even if on a farm, he definitely needs to be a house dog -- he thrives on love and attention, but is not overly "needy."

Tucker is handsome, housebroken, neutered and fully up to date on vaccinations and on flea/tick and heart worm prevention. He is about two years old and weighs around 35 lbs. We think he is a Lab/Coonhound or maybe Lab/Viszla mix. He has the webbed feet of a Lab.

If you would like to adopt Tucker, please visit our website: www.jojosdoghouse.com and download an application, or email jojosdogrescue @gmail.com and we will send you an application. Adoption fee is usually $250, but Tucker's vetting was sponsored by his prior owner so his adoption fee is $150, which includes neuter, heart worm and parasite prevention and up-to-date vaccinations. Thanks for choosing adoption.

About JoJo's DogHouse

About Our Rescue Group...

JoJo’s DogHouse is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization rescue that was born in the hearts of family and friends who want to help dogs in need. We are a network of foster families committed to making a difference. If your heart leads you to helping neglected, abused or unwanted dogs, there are ways you can be a part of the solution. By adopting, fostering, sponsoring, educating or donating, you can make a difference.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have events from time to time and will post on our website and Facebook.

We do not have a shelter open to the public. Visits are arranged on an individual basis.

We are all volunteers and do our best to accommodate everyone.

Our Adoption Process...

We have an application process and we will check vet and personal references (usually takes only 1-2 days). There is also an adoption contract and fee which helps to cover vet and other expenses. The contract is designed to ensure the dog is cared for in all ways and if you are ever unable to care for the dog, it must be returned to the rescue. If the dog is too young to be spayed/neutered before going home, you will also sign a document committing to having the dog fixed and the rescue will follow up.
