Wilson's Story...
Wilson is a Maltese mix who is around 6 years old and 10lbs. He was surrendered to us after his owner passed away. He's a sweet and calm boy. He's new to our program so we are just learning about him. He's done great in the kennel and in the house so far and appears to be mainly potty trained as long as he's taken out regularly. He gets along with all the other dogs in his foster home as well. He just wants to cuddle and be near his person. He's a little hand shy at first. It only takes him a few minutes to warm up and then he wants all the loving you can give. He's utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered. Unfortunately, he was so matted he lost most of his hair but it will grow back quickly. We left a pic so you could kinda get an idea what he's like when his hair is grown out. :)

All dogs have a $150 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wilson, a Grand Bay Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Grand Bay, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Grand Bay.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Bay already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Bay breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Bay paves the way for another one to be saved.
