My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bolt is 2 and 1/2 and came to SA Greys with viral pneumonia. He is not small dog or cat tolerant.

I’m Bolt. Most people call me Bolty. I’ve heard I’m kind of famous. Flash and I both had distemper when we retired. We, and Flash’s best friend Stevie, had to live in an isolation room at Briarcrest for a month! Stevie is a small zebra. You’ll see him in lots of pictures. Stevie & I became really good friends after a couple unfortunate biting incidents. They were LOVE bites, but I’m learned to give love licks instead.

Brissa, our vet tech, and the SA GREY volunteers took good care of us during our incarceration, but we were still bored. Flash took up painting and I, blogging for the SA GREYS Facebook page. Every day, I’d update people on how we were feeling and what we were doing. It helped the time pass and it was nice to know there were people all over pulling for us to get well.

After we were released from isolation, I took some time off, out of the media spotlight, to recover. I didn’t want to tell my fans, but I also had Valley Fever. I’ve been at the foster spa for over a month now, and I’m feeling MUCH better. I’ve gained weight and was strong enough to have my no-puppies surgery this week.

I’m enjoying my new pet life. My favorite things are squeaky toys, relaxing outside and ear rubs. I also really like car rides and walks. I’m trying to learn how to climb on the sofa for cuddles, but I haven’t quite figured it out yet. If you’d like to hang around with a nice, laid back hound, I’m ready to meet my forever person!

Since he has valley fever, he needs to still be treated for that.
