My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Popover is a handsome, friendly, active and animated, six-pound, male Chocolate Himalayan rabbit looking for a loving guardian.

Mom and Dad were relinquished to Animal Welfare League as a pair of male rabbits. So, you can imagine the surprise when the shelter manager came in one day to find they had babies! All the babies have been adopted except for Cupcake who is now four months old, and as big as her parents.

They are all extremely healthy, neutered and spayed now!

They are very social and fun rabbits. They come running to you when you enter the room. Perhaps it helps that I always hand feed them small treats … a bite of apple, carrot, banana, or pear goes a long way towards befriending a bunny. They eat a diet of unlimited Timothy hay and a big salad of fresh greens and veggies.

They are currently living in exercise pens with litter boxes and ramps to run up and tubes to run through. They typically get along with other rabbits and are accustomed to cat visitors. All their supplies are available too so you don’t need to buy anything in advance if you’re considering adopting any of these beautiful rabbits. Popover has excellent litter box skills and gets along with cats and other rabbits.

Their adoption fee of $75 each benefits rescued pets. To meet and possibly adopt Muffin, Popover, and/or Cupcake, please contact Sheri at sheri@petraits.com or 773-777-2891. They are being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
