My name is Evie and I have been patiently waiting for a home of my own for 3 years!!
I was rescued from the Devore shelter when I was pregnant with 9 puppies. I was a good mom, and I am told I am a precious girl. I love to play ball and I will bring it back to you as many times as you can throw it. I love tug-a-war. One of my favorite treats is my peanut butter and yogurt Kong. I love to Chew on bones or bully sticks. I walk well on the leash and love to hike or even run. I play well with others but sometimes do get jealous when there are people around. I want your attention to myself and I would be ok being the only dog or if you have experience with large, strong breeds, you should be ok having me in the house with other dogs.
I have two foster brothers, Caesar (an 80lb bull mastiff/lab mix), and Angel a 10lb pom. I LOVE people! I will show you how much I love you and express it with lots of licks/kisses. I am really smart and I will show you all my tricks: such as sit, down, shake, stay/come and I will even wait nicely at the door until you tell me OK! I love getting in the pool, and I am crate trained, well-mannered in the house, but I don't like cats. I would do best with an adult owner and older kids (teens). My foster mom says I am super sweet and super smart. If you will put some time and effort I learn quickly and I really want to please. Will you take a chance on me and give me a great home? I love my foster mom and home but really all I want is my OWN home for the rest of my life. If you take me home I will be a good girl and LOVE you until the day I die. I am a very loyal girl. About The Little Red Dog, Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Dogs are man's best friend, but it is not always the other way around. The Little Red Dog was founded in memory of a little red American Pit Bull Terrier who did not make it. If you are familiar with the Michael Vick dog fighting case chronicled in The Lost Dogs: Michael Vick's Dogs and Their Tale of Rescue and Redemption. The Little Red Dog was brutally beaten to death by Vick and his cronies because she didn't want to fight.

The Little Red Dog rescues dogs; red, blue, tan, white, brown, black and all colors in between. We do not discriminate against ANY breed; that's because we are a real rescue, and we will help as many animals as we can. Our primary goal is to get them into loving homes. Our hope that some day all of them make it, but most of all, we will never forget the Little Red Dog and many others who did not.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We have bi monthly adoption events every month. Check back often for times and locations. See all of our adoptable pets here: http://www.adoptapet.com/adoption_rescue/82888.html

Our Adoption Process...

All of our animals come fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered (if old enough), and microchipped. Puppies and kittens will be spayed/neutered and have all shots when they are old enough. There is an Adoption application, a quick phone interview to make sure it is a good fit, a meet and greet with the dog, then a home check, and an adoption contract. We ask for a $375 donation at the time of adoption so that we can save other dogs from the shelter.
