My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Make A Difference in your Community - Adopt a Shelter Dog! Would you like to foster a Shelter Survivor? For more information, visit us at www.sheltersurvivors.com.

Annabelle is a three year old adorable little pittie! She was surrendered to the shelter in Manhattan when her family moved to an apartment that didn't allow dogs. She was very much loved and well taken care of, and her family is hoping that she finds a wonderful new forever home.

Annabelle's pictures do not do her justice! Her coloring is a shimmery brown/grey that is absolutely stunning. She has the cutest ears that stand at attention when you talk to her. She is an incredible dog - she is affectionate, great with the other dogs in her foster home, and she loves every person she meets. At three years old she is out of the "hyper puppy" stage and although she can bounce all around the yard with her foster siblings, she loves to snuggle on the couch and hang out with her foster parents.

Annabelle would fit in perfectly with any family. She would do well with another dog (big or small, she loves them all) but she would also be fine as the only pet. She really enjoys being close to people. She likes to chew on nylabones and play with pillows. She has quirky habits that continually amuse her foster family, like walking backwards out of rooms, jumping sideways from a sitting position, and wagging her tail so hard she falls over.

Annabelle weighs about 40 pounds but that is mostly muscle (she is "ripped" according to her foster dad). She definitely needs to gain a little weight to fill her out. She is spayed, up to date on all her shots, heart worm negative, and micro-chipped. She is completely housebroken and when her foster family is at work during the day they leave her free in the house and she is perfectly behaved. The lucky family that adopts Annabelle will have a new best friend that loves human companionship and can be a part of all family activities. Annabelle will most likely get a lot of attention so if you are interested in adopting her please fill out an application today!

If you would like to meet Annabelle, please fill out our online application or email us at sheltersurvivors@live.com. It will expedite the process. Check the events page on our website for more information and directions to meet our dogs.
