Kurt's Story...
PLEASE READ THE FULL BIO FOR ADOPTION INSTRUCTIONS! Fredrich is one of six puppies from our "Sound of Music" litter. Their mother, Baroness, looks exactly like a German Shepherd, but has short legs like a corgi and only weighs a little over 30lbs. They look like fluffy border collies, so while we have no clue what they are mixed with, we know they will be medium sized, adorable dogs! She was pulled from the shelter very pregnant, and gave birth on 22 Dec 2015 while her foster mom was out on a Christmas luncheon. These musical puppies have been shown nothing but love and guidance from their very first breath. They will do great in any home, including ones with kids, cats and other dogs. Kurt is by far the fluffiest of the bunch! He is also the biggest, loves to play but is very sweet and mellow! Whomever adopts him has to promise to send us updates...he is gonna be cute.

We send our puppies out to their foster homes in pairs to continue proper dog etiquette and social skills on top of their foster families guidance, structure and love. They are learning all about crate training, potty training, leash skills and basic manners, including sit. It will be on the new family to continue what we have started, as they are babies and still learning and will need time to adjust to their new family's schedule.

Kurt is ready for preapproval! They will all be spayed and neutered in mid March and will be ready to go home soon afterwards. Once approved, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $250 at the time of the home visit. <p> All MVPC dogs are heart worm tested, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate trained and on a great potty training schedule.

ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, www.miamivalleypitcrew.com. DO NOT USE THE PETFINDER CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those--only submitted applications will receive a response. We do not adopt to individuals under the age of 25. Because we are volunteer based and a home visit is required, we have a two hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case by case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kurt, a Dayton Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Dayton, or seeking a Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Dayton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dayton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dayton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dayton paves the way for another one to be saved.
