Facts about Pete

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 9738119-3657 JG
  • Hair: Short

Pete is a sweet and eager little guy. He is shy with new people, but he loves attention from those who are familiar and he will flirt and roll around waiting for your pets. He often turns on his loud motor before you even touch him. If you take too long to pet him, he'll start chatting to let you know he's waiting. He is a good lap cat and also enjoys being held for short periods. Pete loves play time and it's even better when he has a young cat friend to share it with him. He'd love to be adopted with his foster pal Scrappy Doo. Pete would be okay in a home with calm kids over 10 years old and may be okay with a calm dog. We estimate he was born in August, 2015. About Island Cat Resources and Adoption (ICRA)

About Our Rescue Group...

ICRA is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of the abandoned cat population of Alameda and Oakland, and to educate people to their plight. We provide foster homes for our rescues until we can place them into loving homes through our adoption program. On a limited basis, we humanely trap feral cats in order to spay/neuter them before releasing them back to their colonies. Our goal is to expand our program for maintaining cat colonies in our communities. To make this expansion possible, we need more volunteers.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters pick out a cat or kitten and fill out an application.
There will be a short interview with one of our volunteers. Adoptions do not happen the same day. We will arrange a time to visit your home and the foster parents and a volunteer will meet there. Our adoption fee structure is:

  • Cats and kittens (six months to 8 years): $100
  • Cats (over 8 years): $75
  • Two cats: Full amount for the higher amount cat, half amount for the lower amount cat

    For example: a kitten and an adult would be: $100 + $50 = $150

Prior to Adoption all cats and kittens are:

  • Spayed or neutered
  • FeLV and FIV tested
  • FVRCP vaccinated
  • De-wormed, and
  • Treated for fleas with Advantage or Frontline
