About Love A Stray Cat Division

About Our Rescue Group...

Love A Stray is an all volunteer, no-kill, animal rescue organization for cats and dogs serving primarily Lorain and Cuyahoga counties in Ohio. Our mission is four-fold:

1. To decrease the pet overpopulation by employing aggressive low-cost spay/neuter programs which includes not only adoptable animals but also spay/neuter assistance programs for families who otherwise would not be able to sterilize their pet. We also alter feral cats through trap/neuter/release (TNR) programs.

2. To rescue homeless animals and, when necessary, provide medical treatment including emergency veterinary care.

3. To nurture rescue animals through innovative behavior rehabilitation, when applicable, and to place them from foster families into permanent homes.

4. To educate the public on the importance of being an advocate for animals emphasizing humane treatment and sterilization.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold an adoption event at the Great Northern Petsmart store in North Olmsted, OH every Saturday from 10:30 AM - 5:00 PM and every Sunday from Noon - 5:00 PM. Approximately 20-30 adoptable cats and kittens are transported from our shelter in Avon and from foster homes to Petsmart each week. We also have permanent cages at the following Petsmart stores where adoptable cats and kittens may be seen and adopted during open hours at Petsmart: Great Northern-North Olmsted, OH; Elyria; and Parma.

Our Adoption Process...

Kittens $50 each or 2/$75
Each potential adopter is interviewed by an adoption counselor and then after being approved completes an adoption contract. Our goal is to match each adopter with a cat or kitten that will be perfect in the home.
