Norman came into our lives with the odds stacked against him. He was abandoned outside of an adoption shelter, taken to Animal Control, adopted for a year, returned to AC where he was adopted again, only to be urgently seeking placement before returning to AC, which is when we were contacted. We don't think he was placed in homes that were suitable for him or his needs, and we knew he needed us. Plus, there was something about that adorable face that was tugging at our Rescue President's heart. This handsome guy was terrified of many things, mostly noises & shadows, and he'd crouch when going under bridges or overpasses in the car. His Foster Mom has been working hard to build his confidence and let him know the world can be a pretty great place! He has put his old life behind him and is now enjoying this one!
Norman is a sweet boy who is full of affection and quickly bonds with his people! He really wants to please them and make them happy, which touches his Foster Mom's heart, especially after all he's been through. He enjoys snuggling with her, sitting on her lap, and loves giving her kisses, which includes being tickled by his whiskers! This sweet boy even gives hugs! He'll sit on his Foster Mom's lap and wrap his arms around her neck! He loves spending time with his person, whether they're curled up together & napping or taking a long walk at the park. He's so happy when he sees her in the morning or after work, that he started a ritual where he grabs one of his toys then makes funny noises to let her know how pleased he is she's home! He likes getting attention, especially belly rubs & scratches! When it comes to looks, Norman is quite a hunk! With a beautiful face and eyes that are incredibly sweet, he'll make you just want to hold him and love him forever! His coat is gorgeous & soft and he has the most adorable ears! One of the best things about Norman is his smile! It's very contagious and once he flashes it at you a few times, you'll notice him sneaking into your heart! And, wait til you see him walk - he has the most adorable waddle!
Full of energy and playful, Norman loves all toys! He has so much fun running around the grass, sometimes he bounces like a deer! He likes flopping around on the ground, scratching his back on the grass, with a huge smile on his face! He has a funny way of punching the door with his paw when he's outside and sees his Foster Mom inside - he's so excited to see her and wants to say hello! This goofy guy loves going for car rides and sometimes his Foster Mom catches him looking at her in the mirror with a big smile on his face. One of Norman's favorite activities is going for walks at the parks, where he walks nicely on a leash - he'd make a great walking buddy! Plus, he loves jumping up, grabbing his leash, putting it in his mouth and walking himself. He's so much fun to be with!
A very smart boy who listens well, Norman is eager to please, which helps when it comes to training & teaching him manners. He knows the commands Sit, Down, Stay, Paw, Roll over and Wanna go outside. His Foster Mom worked with him, taking him to parks & pet stores, keeping their distance from others so Norman would feel safe & comfortable, which assured him that everything would be ok and nobody would hurt him. Now he enjoys trips to the pet store and loves going to the park, even if it's full of people & dogs - he recently swam in a creek and had a blast! Norman has come very far since he arrived at his Foster Home and we're so proud of his progress! We believe he'd be happiest in a more quiet home, without kids, as it seems high energy raises his anxiety, which makes him fearful.
Norman has a way of making life so much better just because he's in it! He's looking forward to finding his Forever Home and living the wonderful life he was meant to have. He recently found out his Foster Mom is moving and can't take him with her. If you would like to foster or adopt this beautiful boy with the happy smile, please visit our Foster or Adopt page and fill out an Application for Norman.
