Hello! My name is Olive and I came to SAAP from a shelter. The vet thinks that I am about ten years old. Much about those ten years is unknown, but they did discovered that I am diabetic. I was pretty tired the first week I was with my foster mom, and I still sleep a lot, but I have so much more energy now that I receive my insulin regularly! I have dropped a couple of lbs and am more fit than when I came to SAAP. You should just see me bound through the grass. I have hops!
I really enjoy snuggling and burrowing under blankets. I laugh when my foster mom can't find me, hide and seek is an easy game when you only have 16lbs to hide. I have been told by all of foster mom's friends that I am pretty chill. I can stay in with you all day, or you could bring me to your favorite coffee shop or bar patio. I will be content to people watch with you as long as you like.
I potty outside, going inside is for the unsophisticated. I am good with other dogs, but I am not one to mess up my fur and wrestle around. I met a few cats the other day...they seemed alright, I just don't know how I would feel about having them as roommates. As far as children go, I think I am the most pet dog at my foster mom's apartment. Everyday when she takes me out after work I run around and play with the neighbor kids, they keep me feeling young.
Foster mom here! Olive is a pure joy to have staying with me! I am really going to be sad as well as happy when she finds her forever home. I just want to make sure that whomever is lucky enough to adopt her is also aware and understanding of her medical needs. She gets insulin every 12 hours, in the form of a shot. She is very calm and gentle during the process and it takes just a minute! The medication itself is very affordable and we can help you with learning the proper way to administer.
I just know the perfect home is waiting for Olive! She is waiting patiently for you too!

All SAAP dogs and puppies are vet checked, UTD on vaccines, spayed/neutered, micro chipped, and given flea and heartworm preventatives as age appropriate.

About Stray Animal Adoption Program

About Our Rescue Group...

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.

We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?

We need your help to continue our mission. We rely solely on donations and fundraisers. All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your donation will go towards the rescue, care, and medical needs of the animals.

Our Adoption Process...

You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.
