My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NATE was picked up as a stray dog and brought to a kill shelter in FL. No one ever claimed him and his microchip was never registered, so there was no one to call. He waited there at the shelter for almost 3 weeks - amazingly, and because of his outgoing and sweet personality, he was not euthanized. Almost Home Rescue was called and we picked him up. We think he is about 6-8 yrs old, but very, very active and loves to be outdoors. Loves to chase the ball and seems to like all other dogs he meets on the other side of the fence. His little tail wags all the time. He is very outgoing, and loving - he must have had a loving family in his past. We love this boy!! Heartworm negative and in great health. Please consider adopting him so he can start over. Adoption $200. YOU MUST COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FIRST TO BE CONSIDERED TO ADOPT. Go to www.AlmostHomeFlorida.com to fill out an online application.
This dog will only be adopted to someone with a securely fenced yard. Underground fencing is NOT safe for a Jack Russell. It is required that the household have no small children (under 6) as terriers do NOT make good pets for households with very young children, and no small animals (cats, birds, ferrets, hamsters, etc.) as terriers were bred to hunt and can kill small animals. Jack Russell terriers are not suited to apartment or condo life, and it would be unwise to expect them to be anything other than what they were bred to be. The hunting instincts and prey drive cannot be trained out of these terriers and they will stay active in this way all their lives, even up to 15 to 16 years old and older.
