Sophie's Story...
Hi, My name is Sophie!

I am a tiny and very cute and cuddly Calico/Tortoiseshell cat. I am just 7 years old and very healthy. I have been spayed and am up to date on my shots. I live with my owner in Tarzana, CA, in the Los Angeles area.

I LOVE people. All people. Big ones, small ones, young ones and old ones. I love nothing more than to be the center of attention, getting cuddles, rubs, lap time and play time.

This obsession with human attention has made me quite competitive among my pet peers. I simply don’t get along with other cats – or dogs for that matter. Nope. I would rather be the only pet in my home, soaking up all that love, attention and adoration from my human house mates.

So that is why I need to find a loving new home. I currently live with 3 other cats and a couple of dogs, and I’m making life less than happy for them. I am a DIVA – let’s face it. I need my people all to myself.

My owners love me a lot. They also love my cat and dog siblings, and have had to make the difficult choice to find me a new home. They are dearly hoping to find some real cat lovers who will dote on me, hang on my every meow, give me the audience I need and deserve. They will miss me a lot, but for the sake of everyone, this is the best choice.

My perfect home will be one where (obviously) I am an only pet, and one where there are lots of people to give me lots of attention. I love kids, and will entertain and delight everyone in the home.

Please offer me a loving home today. I will bring my supplies with me, along with the sincere appreciation and friendship of my current owners, who would love to keep in touch with me.

If you would like to meet me in my home, please fill out the Request To Meet A Pet form here:. This provides my owners with enough information about you to feel comfortable inviting you to our home to meet me. If you have any questions about me, please feel free to give Debbie Moore, my pet rehoming coordinator a call at (888) 720-3322.

I can’t wait to purr and play my way into your heart!

There is a $50 adoption/rehoming fee. Supplies will be included.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Los Angeles Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
